Cleary University Elects New Chairman of the Board

Joe Parker C & B Machinery Owner CEODuring the January 2018 Board of Trustees meeting, Joseph (Joe) Parker was confirmed as the new Chairman of the Board of Cleary University; a position elected by peers.

Mr. Parker has been a resident of Livingston County since 1988. Residing in Howell, he is a local entrepreneur owning Heart of Howell and 2FOG’s Pub in Downtown Howell as well as C&B Machinery in Brighton. He also sits on the Board for the Howell Area Chamber of Commerce.

Outgoing Cleary Chair Raymond King, the director of Global Product and Business Development, Global Sealing, Engine, and Underhood Services of Federal Mogul stated, “(Parker’s) the right choice for this position. Cleary University is in a good position to keep the University’s momentum and growth moving forward.”

Mr. Parker states, “It’s an exciting time for Cleary University. The current Board of Trustees is very strong and engaged in all aspects of Cleary University. Mr. King, and the entire Board, with President Dr. Jayson Boyers, have laid a solid plan for Cleary University; “The Cleary Mind”, which encompasses eight core attributes: Critical Thinking, Problem Solving, Creative Thinking, Communications, Persuasion, Entrepreneurship, Leadership, and Ethics. I am honored to be a part of that plan!”

There are so many great things happening at Cleary University. Cleary recently broke ground on their second student housing facility and a multi-use sports complex, both located on the Howell Campus. Cleary also has a new culinary kitchen being built, adding to their current and very strong Culinary program. Joe Parker said “I believe in our programs so strongly that I have two employees currently enrolled in the Culinary program here at the Howell Campus.”

Along with the exciting growth at the Livingston campus, the Ann Arbor Education Center continues to grow with a diverse group of students from around the globe. Cleary also has a new Education Center in Detroit, providing a well-rounded academic program for Wayne County and its surrounding areas.

“I have five grandkids growing up in Howell and I look forward to Cleary University being a part of their lives and their education”, says Parker.

C & B Machinery is hosting an Open House at our new Livingston County Location


Ribbon cutting ceremony for our new location followed by building tours and product demonstrations.


C & B Machinery has moved into a new facility recently. Now that all renovations and updates are complete, we would like to share our accomplishment with the community, our customers and our suppliers. The Open House will take place on Thursday, October 13th from 12:00 to 5:00 p.m. at our new innovative facility located at 7771 Lochlin Dr. Brighton, MI 48116

The Greater Brighton Area Chamber of Commerce and The Howell Area Chamber of Commerce will be present for the ribbon cutting ceremony. The ceremony is planned for2:15 p.m.. Congressman Mike Bishop will be in to tour our facility during the Open House. We will have product demonstrations and displays setup to showcase our technology advancements and capabilities. 

C & B Machinery CEO, Joe Parker, has been contributing to the Brighton/Howell communities for many years. This year, Joe and his wife Becky, have been named Grand Marshals for the Fantasy of Lights Parade in downtown Howell. 
A light lunch and drinks will be provided for visitors during the Open House. We hope to see many familiar faces and new ones as well!
